To oversee and insure that all customers receive quality products through inspection process audits of the production cycle and continuous process improvements. To help provide a quality, cost-effective product to both internal and external customers in a timely cooperative manner. Is the champion of the Total Quality culture involving training, and implementation of all quality education. Ensure the compliance of established certifications.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
SQF and Haacp Practitioner
To oversee product safety
To oversee Quality Department functions and processes
To oversee and manage quality auditor staff.
Provide an atmosphere for development, job satisfaction and safety.
Regularly evaluate performance of quality auditor staff.
Educate, monitor, and ensure compliance with safety rules and standards.
Establish and ensure compliance with department and company policies and procedures.
Maintain accurate and complete production and personnel records and reports.
Organize, direct, and approve work through department.
Coordinate and assure the smooth flow of information and product with other departments.
Execute a plan to maintain ISO and SQF certification.
Educate, monitor and ensure sound and continuous quality training.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Basic technical understanding of packaging specifications and characteristics.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to analyze and interpret numerical data.
Strong and oral and written communication skills.
Ability to perform assigned job duties under constant time pressures.
Knowledge of computer accounting software applications.
Computer and printer knowledge.
General office equipment and calculator knowledge.
Education and Experience
Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
Associates degree in business, engineering, Quality or technical field.
Previous experience with employee involvement teams, problem solving teams, or self-directed work teams is highly desired.
At least 3 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Experience developing and implementing operational plans.
Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
Performs duties in well-ventilated, well-lighted and temperature-controlled office environment.
Noise level is at a minimum.
